Wastewater Treatment Systems

Kurita has a firm commitment to contribute to a secure environment. Our key operations are to treat types of wastewater according to their characteristics, recycle wastewater, and reduce industrial waste. For the treatment of organic wastewater, Kurita has developed a highly effective method that utilizes anaerobic bacteria to decompose the organic substances within the water. For the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus, which cause eutrophication in closed-water areas, Kurita has developed facilities that remove nitrogen by using precious-metal catalysts. Phosphorus is separated from wastewater and recycled as fertilizer. For the treatment of sludge, generated during the wastewater treatment process, Kurita has developed sludge dewatering systems that use our sludge pelletizing method to reduce the volume of sludge, and sludge compost conversion faculties to process sludge as fertilizer. In addition, we have developed wastewater-reuse technologies through zero-discharge system that recovers wastewater as condensate, allowing 90 percent of the wastewater to be reused and ensuring a highly efficient sewage water treatment system.
