Corporate Social Responsibility

At Kurita, we have positioned Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to be at the core of our corporate philosophy and management strategy. Our goal is to provide water and environmental solutions to fulfill our responsibility to society today and in the future.

Sharing Our Solutions with the World

The social issues facing the world today include areas where Kurita’s accumulated technologies and expertise can make a difference, such as the lack of freshwater, climate change, and water pollution. In March of 1997, Kurita founded the Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) to support the development of finding new, improved solutions to water conservation and environmental protection. Going forward, Kurita will continue to provide value to society through sharing our knowledge with the world while actively engaging in global philanthropic activities. See our Corporate Citizenship initiatives on how we make a difference in the global community.

Providing Value to Society

Walk for Life
In partnership with Pace Analytical Services and Pentair, Kurita America employees have sponsored the Walk for Water - Twin Cities in support of Water Mission. Walk for Water raises awareness of the global water crisis; inspired by the burden that millions of women and children bear, walking everyday an average of 3.5 miles to collect water that is not safe. Funds raised help deliver clean, safe water to people in developing countries and disaster areas. Kurita America is proud to support Water Mission and its important work.

Relay for Life
For over ten years, Kurita America employees have participated in and have supported Relay for Life’s Catfishing for a Cure Team. This event is life changing and gives everyone a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and empower us to fight back against the disease. The money raised through Relay for Life events helps fund life-saving cancer research, patient support services, prevention and education information, detection and treatment programs.

Camp Cambria
Juvenile arthritis is a lifelong disease that destroys joints, bones, and muscles, making everyday activities – or even just moving – difficult, robbing children of the joy of just being kids. The Kurita America team has participated in Camp Cambria, a life-changing summer camp experience in Minnesota and Ontario, Canada, for a number of years. Hosted by Cambria, in partnership with the Arthritis Foundation and Arthritis Society, the mission is to raise awareness and funds across North America for children living with juvenile arthritis.

Pure Water for the World
Kurita America team members volunteered for A Week in the Trojes Region of Honduras with Pure Water for the World supporting underserved children and families. The team spent their time installing bio-sand filters in multiple locations including family homes, a health clinic, children’s lunch center and a Catholic seminary. A total of thirty-nine filters were installed providing safe water for over 235 people!

Seeds of Change
The Kurita America team joined POET on their annual mission trip volunteering at an all girls’ boarding school, Travellers’ Oasis Centre, in Kenya. On the trip, the team helped build a new kitchen and dining hall for the school that is used as a dining facility and a multi-purpose center for church and school activities. POET’s non-profit organization Seeds of Change focuses on providing sustainable solutions within education, agriculture, and the environment to communities in need. We are a consistent supporter for Seeds of Change and its life changing work through events and fundraisers throughout the year.
