Kurita America is proud to announce that the move into its newly constructed corporate headquarters in Brooklyn Park is complete! The new address is 6600 94th Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55445
Built by Ryan Companies, the expansive 156,000 square foot facility brings together the company’s established legacy brands, U.S. Water, Fremont Industries and Tonka Water under one roof for the first time since the companies merged to become Kurita America on April 1, 2020. The new facility enables Kurita America to significantly expand its capabilities while creating more efficiencies for its customers and employees.
Approximately 86,000 square feet is allocated for a production area, which is larger than a football field and viewable by a second floor “observation deck.” The remaining space serves as a lab, training room and office space. Additional collaborative workspaces and common areas are located throughout the building, including a reception/seating area featuring a 7.5’ by 20’ video wall, workout facility and more.
Configured with workstations (in lieu of offices) for all employees, including the executive team and CEO, the open floor plan was designed to foster collaboration and interaction throughout the organization. Due to the COVID pandemic, the floorplan was modified slightly with CDC guidelines in mind, including the temporary removal of alternate rows of workstations to ensure employees are not situated within six feet of each other.
Currently, with strict CDC protocols in place, only essential workers such as delivery, production and laboratory personnel are allowed on site on a full-time basis. The majority of office employees have been working from home since March 2020 which is expected to continue at least through the first quarter and possibly longer, pending CDC recommended guidelines. Eventually, it is expected that approximately 200 of its 620 employees will occupy the building when deemed safe to do so.
