Kurita’s patented pHytOUT Technology is an inhibitor delivered to fermentation. This easy-to-feed chemistry can reduce a plant’s dependency upon sulfuric acid while providing an overall process fouling inhibitor package, ultimately leading to cleaner heat transfer surfaces, decreased energy consumption, and increased production.The application of Kurita’s pHytOUT Technology minimizes energy consumption, cleaning frequency, and production inefficiencies. The decreased sulfuric acid usage not only reduces operational costs and positively impacts the plant’s bottom line but also improves safety while minimizing potential sulfur in the final product.
pHytOUT Technology Benefits
The pHytOUT Technology provides a patented system designed for easy delivery and increased precipitation control as compared to sulfuric acid. Kurita’s solution reduces the dependency on sulfuric acid. The prevention of phytate fouling enables Kurita’s pHytOUT Technology to minimize energy costs for distillation, evaporation, and the cooling system.
The pHytOUT Technology is delivered to fermentation as a solid or liquid deposit control inhibitor, which reduces downtime for the heat exchange bank switches and clean-in-place (CIP) events in distillation and evaporation.
Because the pHytOUT Technology reduces the need for sulfuric acid, it minimizes potential sulfur in the final product and coproducts, including wet distiller’s grains (WDG), dry distiller’s grain (DDG), and dry distiller’s grains with solubles (DDGS).
The pHytOUT Technology minimizes sulfuric acid and cleaning chemicals in favor of a low-dosage enzyme system with reduced fuel costs, overall energy and water savings, and the commensurate reduction of CO2 emissions.
